Electrical & Instrumentation Planner
This position is: Full Time
Position Location: New Orleans Area

The Planner will be responsible for reviewing and assessing each turnaround job on assigned area of unit for resource requirements.


  • Assisting in development of the turnaround plan from inception to completion of the event
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the N.E.C. code as a minimum.
  • Field experience. Foreman level as a minimum.
  • Able to do field walk downs for new and modernization work
  • Develop material take off lists along with field conduit and/or cable tray routings
  • Able to execute field work during the TAR as needed
  • Able to identify required material and order
  • Some industrial estimating experience preferred
  • Able to execute field work during the TAR as needed
  • Ensuring availability of Turnaround materials, spare parts and equipment
  • Working with contractor to ensure the resources and equipment are in place for the execution of the Turnaround
  • Ensuring accurate turnaround progress reporting and communication of deviations to plans, schedules, forecasts and performance
  • Maintaining turnaround history of completed jobs, documenting how the job can be improved in the future
  • Developing planned job packages and files
  • Active TWIC card. Good standing in DISA.
  • Must be eligible to work for any U.S. employer
  • Electrical and/or Instrumentation Certification
  • 5 to 15 years experience working in a refinery or chemical plant
  • Strong Communication Skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) Primavera preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines
