Project Engineer
This position is: Full Time
Salary: DOE
Position Location: New Orleans & Baton Rouge


  • Bachelor level Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred)
  • 5 plus years of direct work experience in planning and executing capital projects
  • Experience shall be in the petrochemical, steel or heavy industry sectors


1. Define project objectives

  • Monitor Progress (Schedule and Budget)
  • Oversee quality control
  • Adjust objectives
  • Acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of the project team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

2. Direct and manages project development from beginning to end

  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools (Microsoft Projects).
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve the project goals.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary

3. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
